Waterproofing Foundation Walls
Preventing leaks, solving damp basements
and halting deterioration of the foundation

The weeping tile and downspouts have been connected to the drain system and the wall covered with cement, brushed-on asphalt and a plastic membrane. This Glen Road home will stay dry for decades to come.

A damp basement is a very common problem for Toronto residents. Belvedere follows a comprehensive set of procedures to ensure the problem is solved for the long run, and we provide a 30-year guarantee.
If there is pavement or concrete against the house, we begin by accurately saw cutting so that later we can establish a clean expansion joint. Then we excavate to below the footings of the home.
In doing so, we take every precaution to protect landscaping and nearby structures on your property and on your neighbours’ property if necessary.
We brush and clean the entire exterior wall and fill all cracks with hydraulic cement compound. Then we parge the entire wall with cement and seal it with two coats of asphalt foundation sealer. Finally, we cover the wall with a hardy waterproof plastic membrane.
We install new 4" weeping tile connected to the drain system and cover it with a minimum of 18" of gravel. Then we backfill and power tamp the area to ensure that it doesn’t sink and that it slopes away from the house. We remove all debris and any excess fill.
Finally, we can landscape or rebuild decks, porches or other structures over the repaired areas.
Normally, we dig by hand after notifying the utility companies, such as Enbridge Gas, Rogers Cable and Bell Canada.
